The aim of this study was to evaluate the root external thermal variation during filling through the thermal mechanic condensation technique of the gutta-percha created by McSpadden. Forty buccal roots of maxillary premolars were selected and placed in two thermal pairs in each third root attached to a thermometer to measure the temperature. These data were subjected to statistical analysis, and the results of the condition of the experiment led us to conclude that a variation of temperature occurred however that increased will not cause any perirradicular lesions.
